Cologne is fourth largest city in Germany, with modern and environmentally conscious transportation network, the city itself was a perfect fit for this year's show. According to show organizers, last week's Rail Expo show was the largest this center, and Cologne itself, has ever seen. The show which ran for three days attracted more than 2000 attendees from 50 countries. Five Scottish suppliers to the rail industry joined forces last week to provide a one stop shop for all rail interior soft furnishing requirements, ‘Rail Interiors Solutions’
Transcal joined forces with Forbo Flooring Systems, Novograf, Andrew Muirhead and, Replin providing this one stop solution to soft furnishings in the rail interior sector. The show was very productive and the concept of joining forces with other recognised suppliers into the rail sector was warmly welcomed by all of our visitors. This lead to increased stand visitor numbers and proved to be a great networking opportunity with plenty of interest from train operators and inter company purchasing groups.
In the UK Transcal are manufacturing and fitting in situ in Derby standard class seat covers and curtains in Replin flat woven fabric and first class seating with Andrew Muirhead’s Sateen leather for East Midlands Trains. This programme is currently at train 24 of the 27 train refit programme. In Kuala Lumpur we are running a very similar refit programme for KLIA which is a 12 train programme. We are looking forward to 2012, new contacts and new interior challenges. If you would like to know how Transcal can assist you with your rail interior refurbishment programme please contact us. Next year's show will be held in Boston / MA and run from October 24 - 26.
