Transcal designs, manufactures and installs custom furniture and interior decor pieces for restaurants, offices, boardrooms, conference suites, hotels and quality interior environments.

We work in partnership with some of the world’s most successful designers and furniture manufacturers in the industry. A recent successful refurbishment of a top class London Chinese restaurant has led to further seating work and all in close partnership with Ben Dawson Furniture of Musselburgh, Scotland.

After intensive presentation and prototype activity, Ben Dawson won the contract to manufacture the seating and approached Transcal ‘Inspiring interiors’ of Livingston to discuss the leather trimming and other detail elements.

Transcal are leather seating specialists and have previously worked with BDF on high quality bespoke furniture that required leather trimming or leather components. We were subsequently appointed by BDF to manufacture and fit in excess of 200 bespoke items of leather seating upholstery and fabric components from six specially created colours of leather and one specific textile material.

Four unique seating environments accentuate the dynamic interior decor: LING LING (Beige), CAGE (Dark Green), CELLAR (Khaki) and PDR ‘Private Dining Room’ (Olive). The seating designs are emphasised with the use of highly complex decorative Floral Swirl and Dragon embroideries and embossed leather panels on the six specially created colour-coordinated leathers – all specialist treatments produced by Transcal in Livingston. These unique furnishing effects have already prompted interest from interior designers in the UK and around the world keen to know who was responsible. Exclusive Cantonese dining could have quintessential Scottish elements albeit in a Chinese setting.
